Read an interesting blog the other day and it relates heavily to the series of post on Abortion I've been making so I've added it to my thread on abortion. This could have easily been titled, Abortion - The Consequences.
So here it is word for word... for my fellow readers who know where the shift key is... sorry for the casing, not my post :-).

i was reading something by David Wilkerson this week about signature judgments. in the Bible, there are several times when an individual or a nation faced what some might call an ironic twist of fate. Wilkerson says it is more than irony: it is a signature judgment.
examples abound: Jezebel, Asa, and other leaders. Egypt, whose ten plagues were direct attacks against their most important gods ("you like frogs, do you?"). Israel, whose leaders claimed "the temple of the Lord, the temple of the Lord," has lost the Temple. and so forth.
if God is ready to judge America, what would be our signature judgment?
how about this one: we just experienced the 35th anniversary of Roe vs. Wade. in 1973 the Supreme Court ruled in favor of abortion on demand, discovering in our Constitution a right to privacy, which apparently permits a mother to kill her unborn baby in the interest of her own privacy. since that day 35 years ago, we have killed 60 million of our own offspring in the name of personal rights.
a signature judgment on this cheap view of human life would be this: after fifty years (in 2023), the children who were NOT aborted will find it inconvenient and expensive to keep their elderly parents alive, and so will pass a law permitting children, in the name of right to privacy, to make a personal decision to euthanize their parents, with or without the parents' permission.
that same year, Social Insecurity will go bankrupt, and the elderly will find that the work force was 60 million workers short of keeping the economy solvent. with too many on the receiving end and not enough contributing into the pot, the system goes belly up, and the murdering generation is left destitute.
that same year, America is overrun with a superior military force. it seems we have too few soldiers to match other countries' forces, because we killed them before they were born. what soldiers we have were over-matched physically, because of a weakened gene pool--seems we spent too much time living in hedonism while pregnant, while other countries who lived disciplined lives outstripped us man-for-man. in addition, we lost our technological edge because of our reliance on a welfare state rather than advancing in math and science like the rest of the world. beyond all that, very few young people could be found who believed that anything was worth living for, much more worth dying for, so we handed over the country without a fight. our own government had long ago taken weapons from the hands of the citizenry, and so our nation stood defenseless against those who were more driven.
somewhere back in the 60s, we decided that the Bible was wrong when it says that an increasing population makes a nation strong, and that a decreasing population is a nation's downfall. we gave it the name of Planned Parenthood, but what we meant was Planned Self-Destruction. i think it will work just fine.
